Radio Determination
RADIO-DETERMINATION
"Radiodetermination" is defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as the determination of the position, velocity and/or other characteristics of an object, or the obtaining of information relating to these parameters, by means of the propagation properties of radio waves.
You have woken up on the black sand shores of a mysterious island. With you are a small notebook and a radio receiver. You pick up a signal in the static and seek out its source.
How to play:
Rotate your character using the mouse.
When you find a strong signal in the static (using audio queues or the oscilloscope screen) press SPACE to log a bearing line.
Travel to an adjacent tile by clicking on it. Your radio's power supply will recharge as you walk.
When the power is back to full, turn the radio back on and log a new bearing.
The radio signal should appear where your bearings cross.
Hints:
You get stronger signals at higher elevations. Climb those hills and mountains!
Your triangulation is much more accurate is you find bearings from different angles. Explore the island to find new angles.
The notebook indicates your progress. Green scribbles represent strong radio signals. Orange scribbles occur when your bearing lines intersect near the radio source.
There are four possible endings. Play more than once!

Great little game! Gonna try to find all four endings.
Creative and complete. That's a high quality game jam.
Thank you so much!
very nice gameplay, i'd love to see a longer game exploring the same idea
Thanks! This was made for a game jam, hence the short run time. It’s an idea that’s been in my head for over a decade now. Maybe it will become something bigger in the future.
fun little game with an unsettling atmospherre
Thanks! It’s based loosely on my visit to Iceland, an unsettling place.
