A Skyscraper Sinking Into a Sea of Ghosts
A Skyscraper Sinking into a Sea of Ghosts
A short game about confronting the end
Created for the 1-Bit Game Jam 2024
About the game:
This game is inspired by physical games like The Wretched, where we can tell a story with only a Jenga tower and a deck of cards (Tarot cards, in this case).
Does it work? Technically, yes. There are bugs, but the game I created is exactly what I imagined.
Does it work? Not as I wished. A browser based game is lacking the physicality of a real tower and deck of cards. It's like adapting a book to a movie - something is lost in translation.

I love the artwork but I can't seem to be able to get to the end.
What gorgeous visuals and atmosphere. Feels like an interactive artwork you might see in a museum. I only wish that my decisions mattered more to affect the tower, but I suppose might be part of the point.
The choices do have an effect on the ending text. There are four endings in total. I would have liked to have more of an epilogue, but ran out of time.
Ah I see, my misunderstanding, I didn’t know that that was the case.
