You wake one morning to the sound of a voice on the radio reading a series of numbers. On impulse, you jot them down. These numbers will become your life.
Black Mountain Numbers Station is a one-page, solo-journaling game about a mysterious broadcast, and about finding patterns in randomness. Using a unique dice mechanic to prompt you to describe your journey, you will tell a short story of obsession, frustration, and discovery.
What you will need:
- A pair of six-sided dice, ideally in two different colours
- A pencil
- A notebook
Content: This game contains no explicit content. However, it does touch on the subject of obsession.

As long time numbers station obsessive, I love this! Really tidy, concise design.
If you ever decide to expand on it, I’d love more prompts (say, on the flip side of the sheet). It would be cool if you could explicitly choose which result in each roll you use for x and y axis. Gives it that feeling of interpreting what you’re hearing. It also means the player can consciously aim for certain shapes and their corresponding story beats.
Anyway, I enjoyed this and it’s sparked some ideas for me. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! It's always exciting to see that someone has actually played one of my games. I'm glad it got you thinking.
I'll keep your comments in mind if I make a second edition. I always love more content!
